The brief for Lula & Betty was deceptively simple: build a brand for a home and decor retail store that doesn't look like one. The client wanted warmth without sentimentality, maximalism without chaos, and a visual language confident enough to have a point of view. The strategy was to lead with personality over product. Identity work spanned logo, submark, stamp, typography system, color palette, brand patterns, and icons, everything built around a single conviction: the best homes are collected, not assembled, and the right brand should make you feel that from the first mark to the last detail.

The visual direction leaned into ornamentation, heritage craft, and deliberate maximalism, the opposite of where most home retail brands go. A contrasting logo pairing bold letterforms with fluid script reflects the brand's core tension: structured and personal, timeless and warm. The baroque botanical submark draws from antique crests and hand-illustrated tradition, designed to function the way a fashion house monogram does, rewarding people who already know the brand. A nine-color palette built like a well-collected room, no single tone dominating, every color earning its place. The result is an identity that doesn't just represent a store. It represents a sensibility.
